Because they are open and give you time to play in the mudd...
or bake cake-popsicles...
or finally sort all those little shoes lying around in various boxes and drawers...
or to sew a little and take another step on the road to my aim "handmade christmas presents for everyone":
or just hang around...
Today I slept out long, while my husband prepared breakfast with our children. We found time to practice cycling with our boys and rollerskating with our girls, and I made email-accounts for my daughters, so they are now occupying our computer in every free minute to write to each other, while they´re sitting next to each other :-) We spent hours on cleaning our closets, in the kitchen and in the basement and everywhere. It´s a nice feeling to have things done, though it doesn´t exactly look tidier now... I´m tempted to leave the closets open so I can at least see where those hours went :-) I love weekends because you can do everything and nothing, whenever you want to.
My music for today is: That violin solo around the second minute is terrific! This reminds me I still need to get the "Antifogmatic" album. I mean, to play music, I need to hear it in my head. I can´t play anything I couldn´t imagine in my mind, and how much I love the sounds they form here, I couldn´t see how I could hear those complicated lines in my narrow mind. I absolutely admire their skillfull, smooth playing. Chris Thile is the reason I picked up a mandolin. Not very succesfull, so far, but now I even more treasure how he makes his mandolin sing - I mean, how can he make such a teeny tiny instrument sound so freaking awesome and artistic, with hands even bigger than mine?
See you all on Tuesday, before I´m off to Freiburg, for an extended family gathering. Not exactly looking forward to this, but what the heck. Maybe I can squeeze out a couple of free days for myself :-)
