How to make: Glamour eggs

Isn´t this cool? I know it´s late with easter almost around the corner, but yesterday we had a crafty afternoon, and I had to show you this technique. All you need is styrofoam eggs for the core (maybe you have some spare from the felt-project?), sequins and pins.
And then you just start pinning, round and round, creating a pattern: Kids can help, but don´t expect them to cover a full egg, that takes a lot of dedication, more than normal kids have, at least when you have really small sequins. You could take bigger ones, than it would be faster and easier, or, as we do it, you just leave some blanks and draw with a glitter pen in between. I was quite proud my twins managed about 20 sequins themselves:Of course this is a craft you can only do with kids when you´re sure they won´t eat the sequins and pins - my boys are three, and that wasn´t a problem. A friend of mine uses this technique with blind children, because she says that way they can feel how they decorate their egg - it´s better than painting, which they aren´t able to see. And you could use balls instead of eggs and make glorious christmas ornaments from these, and when you start now, maybe you´ll be able to assemble a whole tree ;-) Kidding ;-)
See how it sparkles in the sun?
We made lots of other things, and I´ll be back later today. My music for this moment is: I woke up to this song this morning, when Eva played it in her room. Taylor Swift is her total hero at the moment, but that´s okay for me, I think Taylor Swift is quite a nice hero when you´re 8 years old. (We´re not talking about me here, no, not at all :-) )
See you later!
